Graduation trip of the graduates of the 2019/20 winter program
On 10.07.2020, the graduates of the 2019/20 winter program jointly held a graduation ceremony in the form of an excursion. This excursion meant a lot to the graduates: On the one hand, the graduation at the Studienkolleg and also the first common reunion after the Corona “peak phase” and the associated very limited contact prohibitions. Some of the Studienkolleg lecturers also joined the excursion in order to give the best wishes to the graduates.
After the obligatory group photo in front of the Cologne Cathedral, the group went to Bonn together by train. They experienced a time travel in the House of History. The detailed guided tour and explanations by a member of the museum staff brought the graduates a few steps closer to the history and culture of Germany.
Afterwards they went on to Königwinter. The small town directly on the Rhine shows its beauty in the peace and quiet. After a short “energy supply” the group could start with the ascent of the Drachenfels.
The group passed the oldest operated rack railway and started the hike towards the Drachenburg Castle. The cloudy weather was ideal for the ascent.
The graduates were amazed by the castle, the gothic and dark style created a somewhat mysterious feeling. After a short shower, which was waited for in the castle, the group could continue in the fresh air to the so-called mountain station and enjoy the magnificent view.
After an ascent there is always a descent, which was sweetened with a visit to the Nibelungenhalle and the reptile zoo. With the satisfied performance after the assessment test all graduates were relaxed and obviously had a lot of fun.
The team from the Studienkolleg bade farewell to this great year with one crying and one laughing eye and wished the graduates all the best for their further education in Germany!
